At this point, ~14 months into Vietnam, it was a much smaller "US" war.

Not sure -- I can't quite remember back to fifteen years before I was born ;)

Maybe not much bigger at the beginning, but as negative as I am about it these days, I could never see Iraq getting to the point where we're losing 500-1000 soldiers per week.
