Nice quote..

I was watching the last part of Stone's "Looking for Fidel" this morning..

Now I'm not a big Stone fan, but he seemed to have caught Fidel in some particularly interesting perspectives.. As a man who knows the reality that his revolution has failed to deliver the modernity and standards of living enjoyed by the rest of the world, but unwilling to accept the flaws of his socialist agenda.

What was most striking was when Stone asked Fidel if should step aside and let a younger leader take over..

Fidel could only answer along the lines of, if he truly believed that his continued presence as leader was not helpful, he'd step aside immediately.. As if he believes he's the only one with all the answers..

And when Stone asked him what would happen if Fidel suddenly died and left a power vacuum, he dodged any coherent response..

Really sad... an entire nation caught in the grip of one man's megalo-mania..
