The US can stop now, or it can keep on making midnight raids to kidnap people out of their homes to be imprisoned, and sometimes tortured and killed. There is an honorable course for the US. But it requires admitting to the mistakes. And as you saw, the commander-in-chief cannot imagine any mistake that he might have made. Like attacking and killing thousands of un-armed civilians in iraq over his imaginary wmd's.
