That is impossible to know. It depends on the manner of leaving. It may be followed by continued chaos and lawlessness. or it may be followed by the emergence of a dictator.

But regardless, I don't think the resistance will continue until the occupation ends.

The US has already caused a catastrophe for the Iraqi people. The only question is how much more it will be multiplied. The US can stop now, or it can keep on making midnight raids to kidnap people out of their homes to be imprisoned, and sometimes tortured and killed.

There is an honorable course for the US. But it requires admitting to the mistakes. And as you saw, the commander-in-chief cannot imagine any mistake that he might have made. Like attacking and killing thousands of un-armed civilians in iraq over his imaginary wmd's.
