thats great news that a moderate repub won in PA. I always liked Arlen Specter but he has an issue in that this period has a lot of unhappy people and that usually means trouble for incumbents. I'm glad he won.

Have you been paying attention to Kerry's credibility meter? He recently admitted that he exaggerated the atrocity charges against his former comrades in his congressional testimony. Does that sound like a man of integrity? It proves he'll say anything to win an election.

He did not admit any such thing. What he said was that he wished he'd said it in a different way. That he had been more diplomatic. But he has never backed off on what he said was done in Vietnam. To ignore that atrocities were committed would not only be wrong it would be stupid.

The most recent video from 70s shows him stating to a reporter that he threw away his medals, yet we know they hang on his office wall. He claims the medals & ribbons are interchangeable...that's like saying a silver chain is as valuable as the large diamond it holds. He knew exactly what he was doing in the 70s. He protested the war yet could not part with his medals so, as usual, he found another straddle strategy.

The medals and the ribbons are interchangeable. In every case he has explained what he did. It was documented in hundreds of articles, books and videos. For you to take this one interview as the one that carries all the weight is nuts. I saw the interview, Kerry was obviously tired and was not really paying attention to the question. But who cares about one source of many, when he has said time and time again that he threw his ribbons and other's medals.

When asked last wk if his first injury was considered rather minor to be rewarded with a Purple Heart and after the reporter told him his CO at the time said recently that he begged for the Purple Heart, Kerry replied "no one has questioned it until now".

It's doubtful that ever happened. What CO can remember what transpired with every purple heart 30 years ago. Hey I can't remember with any accuracy what happened last week...much less 30 years ago. What Kerry meant by "no one questioned it until now"...is that the republican dirty tricks bunch is trying to make hay out of thin air.

He's been ranting on campaign trail about what he perceives as lack of concern from Bush Adm re energy/environment issues. When asked if he owns an SUV, he stated...it belongs to the family, not me??

It's probably not in his name. But you're right on this...he should admit that his family owns an SUV...so what, most families own some...and not just the rich ones.

That's just the short list--you had better reconsider which of the two candidates plays loose with the truth.

These items you attribute to Kerry pale in comparison to the whoppers that Bush has told. His campaign ad lies take the cake. But he and this administration have lied about WMD, Yellow cake, outing Plame a CIA agent, Links between Saddam and bin Laden and many many more severe deceptions.

He said he was against nation building...now he builds Iraq.

He said he's for education...then he does not fund it.

He took funds that congress earmarked for Afghanistan and spent it on planning the war in Iraq.

He says the Medicare bill costs are 200 billion...turns out it's 400 billion, and he fires the guy who tried to tell the truth about the costs.

He says he's a uniter...then he proposes a constitutional amendment that has divided the country.

He says he's for the little guy...but the corporations fund his campaign...and returns the favors with tax breaks and targeted spending...all this while running the deficit ever higher and sending jobs over seas at an ever quickening pace.

Bush plays fast and loose with the truth. What you said about Kerry doesn't amount to a popcorn fart compared to the stench produced by the Bush lies.

Try to find any lie of Kerry's since he's been in office.
You won't find one, at least nothing of any consequence. Ever since he's been sworn in as a Senator he's been a real Honest Abe.

Pointing to an exaggeration made 33 years ago as your only evidence that he is somehow dishonest when your Cheney-Bush heros lie to us about huge issues all the time is really a desperate stretch. Besides, bringing that up only got egg on Cheney-Bush's face, reminded everyone they were AWOL and draft-dodgers, reminded everyone of how seriously awful Iraq is and how Bush is finally trying to adopt Kery's plan to somehow get out of there.

Cheney-Bush have also just spent 60 million on dishonest negative ads, more than most presidential campaigns used to spend in their entire season. Cheney-Bush are now out half the 180 million they raised and are at a record low in ratings, with 55% saying we're on the wrong track as a nation.

Any more comments about the ribbons "controversy" hurting Kerry?

Where was Bush in 1972 and who outed the CIA agent?
How about that 9-11 warning, Bin Laudens allowed out of the country, secret oil deals with the saudis? You want lies, evasions and cover-ups, just pay attention to anything Cheney-Bush say.
