I was in Manila recently. Too hot to go out during midday, so I forced myself, in an excess of masochism, to watch several hours of CNN and about the same of Fox News. The impression I got was less that CNN is liberal and Fox conservative than that CNN is dull and Fox is dumb. The CNN people all seemed to be trying to be Walter Cronkite, and achieving only pompous windbaggery. The Fox guys were a bunch of obnoxious whiny little pricks.

Hard to evaluate content, since there wasn't any.

Funny.
I had an uncle in rural Indiana. Credited FDR with putting in electricity in the thirties and voted Democrat ever after when all the other relatives, including his kids, were diehard democrats.
I was shocked when he told me how late they'd gotten electricity to the farm.
