You are correct! General Odom was on CNN tonight. He said the Iraq operation is a complete failure and that Osama should be pleased.

Odom is sharp. I'll look for a transcript tomorrow. Odom was Director NSA (under GHW Bush, Reagan), Assistant Chief of Staff for Intelligence, the Army’s senior intelligence officer (under Reagan), military assistant to National Security advisor, Zbigniew Brzezinski (under Carter).

Yes, Cheney-Bush logic was Saddam and Al Qaida both hate us so they must be in league and by taking out Saddam we hurt Al Qaida. But the opposite is also true, Saddam and Al Qaida hated each other so by taking out Saddam we make Al Qaida and Shiites radicals the new powers in the region, and they're worse than Saddam.
