Hope he throttles back hard after the election. That will be the one of the tests of whether he's an old-fashioned Republican. Don’t bet on it. He won’t be running again, but another Republican will be, and there’s no way to gain significant spending cuts without stepping on key constituencies. I think they are still hoping they can grow their way out of the deficit, but that’s not likely either, unless we go into bubble mode again, which does more harm than good.
