Again, if anyone bothers to read the history of Rome, England, France and Spain (not likely with our anti-intellectual Prez), the use of mercenaries will allow governments to stay in places they couldn't with their own people. And for a length of time they shouldn't. On a personal note, the military is trying to contact the daughter of one of our contractors. I suspect that the Colonel is not just calling to say "Your husband misses you." There is a grim reality for some people as a consequence of our troop deployment and I can't say that I feel America is safer and better as a result of this recent bout of adventurism.
