crusty - I spent some time last night looking at the charts of various Rydex and Profund short funds. I suppose you could almost throw a dart and pick one since they all depend on the overall market call. But the more I looked at it, the more I kind of liked UCPIX (small-cap short).

It's bottom looks more well-rounded than USPIX, though USPIX is my customary vehicle. We'll see how it goes. Russell says Fridays are usually down days in a bear market since traders are unwilling to hold long positions over the weekend, but it would be unusual not to see a bounce here. I might have to stick a foot in the water.

P.s. SML.V - I agree, that one needs time to develop, it ain't a Polaroid snapshot, but should be worth the wait.
