No, it's not. The INS processes applications for permanent residence and for naturalization in such a way as to deter all but the most determined applicants. This policy of deliberately creating a bottleneck in the immigration process is just one more way of slowing the flood of immigrants into the US. If it was easy to become a US citizen, half the world would show up here within a decade.

So, be good, stay with the process, and you will eventually reach your goal. It will be worth it. And quit bitching. It's a privilege to immigrate here.
