Bush is no Reagan. Not by a longshot. Reagan had an ability to get even people who disagreed with him to go along with him. Bush tried that overseas and alienated 90% of the world, which is why we're all but alone in Iraq bearing that terrible and possibly useless burden. Bush has also alienated moderates of all stripes and is the most distrusted president by liberals. Reagan would never have allowed that to happen. He was not perfect, made mistakes (S+L debacle) and was often sneaky, (Iran-Contra) but he commanded ten times the respect that Bush does. To most people, even many Republicans, Bush is dishonest boob and BS artist. The Republicans I know are very muchy on the fence with Bush. Some of them will vote for Kerry this time. Howqever, remember that Bush is really just a front-man. Cheney is the one controlling things and he is to be feared, not just for his toughness but his ruthless dishonesty. Cheney used to be trustworthy in the old days but now he represents the worst of the industrial-military-big oil mentality. He simply does not care about people or the environment at all.
