Thomas, the story was suppressed by the govt according to this:

RE: "Two weeks ago, 60 Minutes II received an appeal from the Defense Department, and eventually from the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Richard Myers, to delay this broadcast -- given the danger and tension on the ground in Iraq.

cbsnews.com

I wonder who was directly in charge of the prison where the abuse occurred, not just the layer way above it. The person directly in charge should be charged. Am also curious if soldiers at other prisons are not educated on Geneva Conventions? They are prosecuting a person that's in the layer above the prison. It's interesting she is the only female U.S. commander in Iraq.

Regards,
Amy J

It's interesting that CBS suppressed this story for a month, only releasing it after it began to leak out via other media.

antiwar.com;

Yes, and the rumor has been around a lot longer than a month. Maybe it wasn't the same incident......I suspect there have been others. The worst part is that if Americans are captured now, they will be tortured as well.

Getting at the truth seems to be a real struggle for American media.
