Yes. Saddam and US were on the same side. I don't care what you think about it. We will do whatever we want. We are a superpower. Why give excuses about Islamism's rise in Iran? Could it be that a pet dictator was taken away by force. We were pissed. How dare you?

Similarly, you went at great length to avoid saying that Bin Laden was on the same side as US. No. He was a sub-contractor through another company. Look at his payroll slip. That absolves me from all the mayhem he may have caused before.

Hawkmoon. Get away from your guilt pangs. You don't have to hunt for excuses. It is OK.
