A few GIs clearly ran amock and afoul of the "Geneva". Not knowing the circumstances I can think of no justification for these acts. There is no doubt in my mind that our military will deal with them. It is unfortunate, but not at all surprising,

I don't care what they do to those butthole GIs......its the future American POWs and their treatment by the Iraqis that has me worried. The Iraqis will do real torture and not play sex games.

It is unfortunate, but not at all surprising, that the worldwide media did not express the same outrage when the four men were mutilated and hung over the Euphrates.

Huh? The world media was outraged!

Actually, believe it or not, I am not so sure these prisoners were treated in violation of Geneva conventions. Truth is they were NOT tortured NOR are they being charged with torture. They were HUMILIATED and thus are being charged with improper treatment of prisoners (forget the legal term). But, as many have pointed out, it is a very bad thing for us (publicity wise) and could put OUR prisoners in bad situation, although from the way these terrorists act I am not so sure being NICE to them would make any difference. jdn
