I can listen to streaming audio with my dial up, although I don't often. I listen to college basketball games in season. Video, I agree, doesn't work. If I ever get to where I have an interest in streaming video, then I'll get a fatter pipe. Right now, while it may be exciting as a technology, I don't have any need for it. As for big downloads, well, they chug along in background. No big deal.

I recently got all excited about the navigation system in a friend's new car. I had decided against that option when I bought my car six years ago because I didn't need it. I still don't need it. Would probably never use it after the initial rush of excitement. But for a few weeks after experiencing it, I wanted it really, really bad. Fortunately, the itch passed.

A three second load time is as long or as short as we perceive it to be.
