Clinton on NAFTA and welfare reform - I supported him on both issues. On the Balkans intervention as well.

Re. hatred of politicians. I hated and despised Clinton myself back in 1992 - 1994. I'd read enough to know what a creep Clinton was even before he was elected President. Thought it was a disgrace for the country to have such a sleazeball in the White House. He should have been a small town used car salesman spending his off-job time trying to hustle every skirt that entered the bar of the local Holiday Inn.

However, I got over the hatred after 1)his incredibly complicated health plan went down in flames and 2)the Republicans got control of the House and he responded by moving to the "right" and governing as a moderate. And I began to see him as one who was pitiful and pathetic.

I hope some of today's Bush haters get over it eventually. It is making them copy the Republican Clinton-haters of the latter Clinton era.
