Had this exact same discussion with one of my sharper associates yesterday. Our sense was that all the geopolitical tensions, the Fallujah effect, has so far kept the specs firmly planted in energy.

BTW, big specs positions are only useful as a risk parameter, not so much a timing tool. To me it just says that if a market heavily loaded with specs breaks, it could break very hard. Actually though this commodity flush has been pretty well contained, which to me suggests it has a solid base. I expect the specs to reload, this time as more a flucht in die sachwerte playbook, rather than the pure reflation one.
