You probably won't agree, but I think you could find a quick $200 billion (a YEAR) by halving the defense budget. We'd still be spending nearly 300% more than the next nearest military spender, Russia. We just need to redirect our defense to intelligence and antiterrorism, instead of global nuclear war. Some new arms reduction treaties might help. The military IS pork in a lot of areas.

Start by actually paying for the war. If it's worth it...pay for it...let the wealthy cover the bill because the poor are paying in blood.
