That's a meaningless statement, I would ask him how he defines success, which of course he would not answer. Failure is in fact the only possible outcome of our Iraq adventure. The only thing left to be determined is how large a failure it will prove to be. However you can't get elected President by saying that. We take pride in our wars, it's how the politicians get people to fight them. Saying that Iraq will prove to be a failure is, to a substantial portion of our citizenry, equivalent to saying that America is a failure (what a ludicrous concept), and therefore totally unacceptable in political discourse.
