Statistical fact: recession started March 2001.
The rightwing dreamt up the line "The Clinton recession" to try and excuse themselves from their own failure. In fact it's another big lie of theirs.

Furthermore, the energy crisis in 2000-2001 we now know was fraud-driven not market-driven and the fraud artists were Cheney-Bush's closest allies. Now way in hell they could not have been a part of it. The massive energy gouging truly harmed the economy, except in Texas.
