So I missed the part where he also said,"If confronted by difficult, traumatic events, I will respond in unrelated ways that suit my own biases and drag the rest of the country into my crusade, wherever it leads and no matter how flimsy the 'proof' may be...because I am a leader."

Actually, he has said more or less that many times in the past few months, spiced up with a few obvious lies to make him look good - another aimless crusade.
