I interpreted the link you posted to mean that the UN is a worthless organization because of the scandals and hence the US should ignore the world body and go it alone.

Is there no scandal in the Bush White House? The scandal about doctoring intelligence, the scandal about leaking the name of the CIA agent, the scandal about Halliburton interests in Iraq, the scandal about the secret meeting Vice President had with the energy lobby, the scandal on Alaska oil drilling, the scandal about Ken Lay and Enron and letting him off the hook because of his contribution to the Bush campaign etc.

Should these scandals be the reason for us to give up on the Presidency as a institution or do we give up on the President as a person?
