I am yet grateful for those who support the cause even if it is for selfish reasons.

Well, I think that, when it comes right down to it, this is something that everyone concerned with environmental ethics struggles with at times. Why do we care about the environment? Is it because we fear for our own existence if and when the entire system begins to collapse? Is it because nature is a thing of beauty for many of us, and we can't bear the thought of living in a world without that beauty? Or do we care because we have some feeling of responsibility to repair the damage we have done? Or should we just care about the earth because all children should feel respect and care for their mother. At this point, it doesn't matter that much to me which motivation a person feels, so long as they are willing to do what they can to heal the system. We've all made mistakes and continue to make them, but it's not too late for us to do what we can.
