The last I checked, the BBC was not American. I responded to the portion of your post that I clipped, which was: "In this case, you can mourn the loss of the idea that the American media are, you know, pro-American even under a Republican administration, while blaming the reporters who seem to be working for an American defeat." I stand by what I said.

I know you follow the BBC. I'm not the first here to suggest that you reconsider. <g> The BBC may not be objective, but your drawing from that the notion that American journalists are "working for an American defeat" is not objective either. Sure, there may be one or two anti-Americans among the media just as there may be one or two in any group. But the notion that significant numbers of Americans of any kind want their country to crash and burn is, er, overwrought.
