You have drawn an incorrect conclusion. You and I have talked before about my two objections to invading Iraq--insufficient justification and impossible dream--not that you should be expected to remember them or to pay them any mind when you draw your conclusions.

The primary reason a miracle is needed is not because of screw-ups in implementation, although there have been some and they haven't helped, but because the objective was close to unfeasible in the first place. Even with perfect planning and execution it was unlikely. Now it is even less likely.

Bush and company seem to be applying themselves mightily to pull it out. I give them an A for effort. I hope that whatever they come up with works.
