I am not an expert. But I know enough to realize that a Gen. Shinseki's views on this issue are far more weighty than that of a bunch of Chickenhawks in the Dumbya administration, who are all for waging war, but not brave enough to take part in one when they had the chance.

You seem to allude that Major General Antonio M. Taguba might have been wrong about abuses. I think everyone including Myers and Rumsfeld seem to believe that abuses happened. It is the extent to which it happened is the point of debate. I think they are aware of the details of investigation and are trying to down play it as a part of Damage control.

Having said that, I think millitary started investigation soon as they got wind of it.
