They are in denial. I would also suggest, and you are probably better qualified to address this issue than me, that the problem with Kerry is not so much what he did or didn't do in Vietnam, but what he did afterwards. He certainly deserves credit for having served in Vietnam, but I don't think that a lot of vets are going to ever forgive him for what he said and did afterwards. He may not have actually hung around with Jane Fonda, but he certainly helped spend her money.
