Just as terror elected Sharon, so to in some ways did the likuds vote against a withdrawl as spite against recent terror. In any case, only half the likudniks voted, which is 2% of Israelis and is hardly representative of the general public's feelings on the matter.

And the ones who voted were the settlers. As far they are concerned, Gaza and the WB are Israel.

If Sharon was committed to his plan, why didn't he do a referendum that included all the Israelis?
