Steve,

re: do you understand why there is an electoral college?

I understand, very clearly. We are not a Democracy, we are a Republic. We elect representatives because the founding fathers felt that the common people were capable of making extraodinary mistakes. They felt that the higher classes, that were running to represent the people, would make better decisions. That's why the electoral college is not required to vote as their constituents voted.

Now what the hell does that have to do with the Senate, two representatives from each state? Ever hear of the House? Where (when the pols are not gerrymandering the districts) you have a balance based on population? Do you have any freaking understanding of balance of powers and what that was designed for?

Do me a favor. Say what you mean. If you think the Senate is some kind of un-democratic institution, just say it and say why. Quit with the posts that make no sense... say what you mean so that folks can agree or disagree. Do you have any balls for your conviction at all?... the "liberals" on this thread say what they mean and what they think.

Or if you are afraid to give your opinion, just shut the f-ck up.

John
