I think there were shortcomings in the intelligence area and the filtering of that information. Anyone who has dealt with government on any level sees how this can happen. With so many fiefdoms and information which was not shared, warnings were missed. I'm not saying that 9/11 could have been prevented but it's clear that we need a total re-working of our massive layers of intelligence agencies, clear coordination and effective communication. I don't believe that the result would have been any different had Gore, Clinton, Lieberman or Kerry been President. Many of the problems in communication were as a result of "firewalls" set up by Congress and by regulation and administrative proclamations because of perceived abuses by prior administrations. Irrespective of all that, I do support a total review. My reason for posting to TigerPaw is that I believe his whacked out theories just cloud any real issues, if they exist.
