I would say, if there is no more interest in Nikkei, this board should be gone. Bye.

Borb,
to the contrary - many US tech companies have been looking more than richly valued to me recently IMHO. I'm not willing to pay up implied netted PSRs of 3 and more (netted .. nonoperating assets stripped out)...

So I turned to international stocks once again..
in Japan I increased my position in ASAHI SOFTDRINKS 2598.J - now 920 Yen many months ago.. I saw their new 3year strategy plan update on the parent co (ASAHI BREWERY). That one calls for almost doubling of revenues of the SOFDRINK biz (which is what 2598.J owns) to 300 billon Yen in 2006 (from 180 billion now). Operating income is planned to go up from 2.5 billion Yen ot 15 billion yen - would be around 130 Yen per share EPS for Asahi Sotdrinks according to plan.. Greater China and South Asia expansion planned.. should benefit from appreciating local currencies also..

at the same time I again entered into a sizeable position of SHINDENGEN Electric 6844.J - which now is suggesting breakeven for the past year and a remarkable turnaround to EPS of 20 Yen for the next. Power semi market is doing very well, and recnet booking have shot up 25% and more according to company news. One broker issued a buy reco recently also.. around 390 Yen..

Still holding my JEOL position (6951.J) and not plannign to sell it. The Ultracapacitor ("NANOGATE") will be mass produced later this year by a dedicated JV. Any upsurge in staggered semi equip spending - which should trickle in over 2004 also will have the effect of accelerating JEOL's earnings and sales northward. Around 820 Yen now.. for the current year ending March 2005, around 20 Yen in EPS is planned but no uptake in semi equip capex was modeled into this prediction..

I really like SHIMADZU now, mayb that'll be my next purchase.. (7701.J) around 520 Yen
