They killed each other, too, when artillery coordinates were off. As Powell said, you break it, you own it. We never should have gone. Kids who are taught nonsense in school have no idea about Vietnam and the devastation it wrought there AND here. Vietnam almost undid this country. But Iraq is worse, far worse. When will Congress hold Bush accountable? for the lives, the money, the travesty of this mess? Watergate and Vietnam combined were nothing compared to the this administration's lies and the complete disregard for the Constitution this president has.

Did you read what the wingers were saying about you on the just the facts Maam thread?

They said you dropped acid just to get out of going to Vietnam.

Message 20088797

Is that true?

They have a test in the US military. If a woman approaches you clutching something and refuses to stop and raise her hands, what do you do?

Correct answer: You fire. First shot a warning, second shot to wound, third shot to kill.

If if turns out she was just some crazy chick with a puppy dog, that's an atrocity.

But in Vietnam, it got a lot worse than that. It got to the point where our guys were so freaked they shot first and asked questions later. Easy for draft-dodgers like Bush to criticize, but real warriors know that war is hell and that there is no such thing as a polite war.
