I have two great results for the public education system in my kids. An 800 and a 790 SAT score in there for each kid in math. I dont remember who got what score but that doesnt matter. mike

My son graduated high school with almost a year of AP credits. He's just finishing his first year, and after summer school will be a junior in college.

If a kid is smart and motivated, he can get an excellent education in our schools. But that description doesn't fit most. In California, most smart kids would be in Jr College by the time they hit their HS Junior or Senior year if they could get away with it.

I jumped half of 8th grade when I moved from Chicago to San Diego at age 12. I was thinking about it yesterday. I could have just got on the HS bus at the start of the year and started then in HS. Coming from Chicago, with no record transfer in the 40's, no one would have said a word.
