I'd say the waste of money was Bush's $60 million trashing of Kerry to come out behind in the polls. I find Kerry's ads perfect for the undecided voter. I think they'll see Bush spending all his time trashing Kerry, and realize Bush has no accomplishments to run on. Bush is even trashing Kerry personally in his stump speeches. Very unusual for an incumbent, who should be trying to look "Presidential" and "above the fray".

One organizer of the news conference is John O'Neill, a Navy veteran who in 1971 held a series of debates about the atrocity issue with Kerry. In 1972, O'Neill, who had the enthusiastic support of President Nixon and his staff, spoke on Nixon's behalf at the Republican National Convention. O'Neill said that he has since become politically independent and was not now acting in concert with GOP officials.

That says it all about O'Neill. Support from Nixon?

Kerry's ads are very strong, very positive, and true.
They should pour cold water on the phony Bush claims that Kerry is "weak on defense" and some "elite arrogant" person. In fact, Bush is from the most elite family in the country, a real Yankee blue blood Andover-Yale-Harvard wasp who never had to work a day in life, and hardly has.
