Archival Flash Storage

Someone on the digital photography site posted this article...

An informed IT patient of mine thinks this is overblown, although there are theoretical risks.

Given the latest news on the new Titanium USB drive, I wonder if we will see
archival flash USB storage that is intelligent. Imagine a USB product of several
gigabyte capacity that could serve as a vault for images and when connected to a
PC would be refreshed automatically. I would be interested in such a device. On it I would
not store a complete digital photo library, but perhaps several hundred or several
thousand of my favorite photos. I would use this in addition to CD or DVD media.

Just a thought.

Seems like the USB drives are becoming more intelligent.

SanDisk also expanding on free software content delivered on the flash product
as I thought might happen several years ago. Now they just need a killer software app.
