Bill O'Reilly had a show about SUV's being bad for the environment. These right-wing pro-pollution lobbyist types kept calling in and saying "so and so owns a SUV" so he cannot talk. Or "if you're so concerned about the environment, why do you use your air-conditioner?" BS like that. O'Reilly chewed these bozos out big-time and slammed CHeney-Bush too. Tha fact is the Bushies lobbied hard to defeat the McCain-Kerry CAFE standards bill which was nothing radical but which mandated common sense efficiency standards in our autos, including SUV's which can run just as well burning 25% less gas. That cost us more oil than is in the entire state of Alaska. Why do Bushies do it? Because they are owned lock, stock and barrel by the oil companies. Same reason they invaded Iraq. We all burn energy, but the point is we all need to start burning a lot less. Efficient machines are the first step. Also turning off lights, air-conditioners and not driving around big vehicles by yourself. Next step is to switch from gasoline to clean fuels, that that takes changes at the top, especially getting rid of Cheney-Bush, two lobbyists for big oil. The last time I saw Kerry he was driving a hybrid car to an event. Sure it was symbolic, he travels with an entourage of 30 people, but it was a statement that he cares. That he is aware and trying to set an example when he can. His record proves that he cares and will lead on this issue in the stronest way. Quit defending the polluters and gougers by parroting this big oil lobby talk. Our guys are dying in Iraq now over oil.
