if there was anything worth fighting about, the Israelis would be all over it like bees on honey."

But they are, I doubt though that they will have much success. Can you imagine Israelis having appealed to Saddam Hussien for restitution, that's a laugh. Or how about the Saudis or Iraqis. Besides, many Israelis accept that some sort of restitution will be in order, I doubt there is an iota of that sentiment anywhere in the Arab world for jewish restitution.

Why have they not offered restitution to the Palestinians?

"Why bother with Sharon as PM?"

There's been many others beyond Sharon and many U.S. presidents that have vied for peace. The only part of the equation that has never changed is Arafat. Hmmmm, I wonder if that could mean anything. For you, I doubt it.

The Israelis treat Palestinians like they are 4th class citizens. The Palestinians do the dirty work the Israelis refuse to do. The Israelis have not negotiated fairly in years, if not forever. Under those conditions, why would you expect a better leader than Arafat?

BTW you are not posting to a Muslim or Arab; nor am I anti Semitic. In fact, it was my expatriate Israeli friends who got me to see what was going on.......prior to that, I was like you.....pro Israel and anti Palestinian.

What's going down with Israel/Palestine is very bad. It can result in a major war. Either we pull out completely, or we play more neutral. The position Bush is taking is another mistake of this administration.
