Look Hillary is in the middle now but who doubts that philosophically she is at the far left of the spectrum.
There are alot of vietnam era age guys who are genuinely conflicted. Many of us started on the left and gravitated to the right. What i hate is everyone on any side of the spectrum becomes sanctimounious and overconfident. This next election in which i expect to vote for bush is not a lock just because UW and some vets say kerrys record is questionable nor is it a lock because his supporter vets say the opposite.
But bush is no lock either. I think bush needs to lock up moderate independents like myself who now have lost confidence in the cheney/rummy team. I suggested early on that bush needed a friendlier face for Veep. Ok its too late for that so lets sacrifice rummy and give McCain his chance to shine. There are a few people that i know who will jump from kerry to bush if mccain comes onboard. Isnt it important enough to shake things up to win? Over here on this thread, one would never know that there was a neck and neck race going on as most are expecting for Kerry to just implode. Wont happen. Dukakis cant happen when there are two dukaki's running in the same race. SEE Y2K election and read the dem threads back then about how gore couldnt lose. Mike
