"People resort to terrorism when everything else fails." But that's not the case here. A mechanism was put in place for negotiations, nothing Israel did (and even if there was something) does not serve as a legitimate justification for terrorism. So then why, you might ask, does the PA and Hamas and whoever else employ terrorism so vigorously? Because it serves as a catalyst for increasing Israeli pressure on the Palestinian people, which in effect ups the oppression. The PA leadership knows full well conditions for their people will worsen as it steps up the use of terror tactics. They want to create a level of beligerance among their own people against Israelis (jews actually) so they will be motivated and accepting of involving themselves in extreme and merciless actions, ie suicide action. The PA leadership is intent on making their peoples' lives shit. Recently I met a fellow from sweden and he told me of a housing project a charitable swedish organization had built in occupied territory for palestinians. After the project was completed, Hamas, or some group, had it destroyed, because why... The swede thought it was because Hamas didn't want to see anyones comfort level improve. There were numerous Palestinian folks who spoke out after the mentally disabled teenager's recent suicide attempt was foiled. Their complaint was that now they would be out of work in Israel because the checkpoint for entry would be closed. That was work that fed 30,000 families... Was the goal to kill Israelis or to have the border gate closed so Palestinian people would suffer more because of the loss of income. I don't know, but I suspect it was the latter.
