Now that's a switch, having gunhater idiot Michael Moore-on go ballistic. How many grains of powder do you suppose he's using? For that matter, what KIND of powder is he using?

Message #42220 from LindyBill at May 4, 2004 11:50 PM

This is delicious. Moore must be ballistic.

Right now Disney is being boycotted by the Religious Right, they need Michael Moore like a hole in the head.

As big of a liar as Moore is, I think he's funny and says things that are worthwhile. At least, he has been in the past.

Of course, I used to think that about some people on SI that are now on the permanent Ignore list and some that go on and off like a defective neon light. ;^)

I thought a documentary was supposed to be factual &
objective? Or have documentaries gone the way of
responsible journalism?

:-
The Walt Disney Company is blocking its Miramax
division from distributing a new documentary by Michael
Moore that harshly criticizes President Bush, executives
at both Disney and Miramax said Tuesday.

Disney Forbidding Distribution of Film That Criticizes Bush

Well, they'll lap his film up in Cannes (next week I think.)

Someone mentioned this to me today in the context of government/big business censorship. I have to say that I'm content if "censorship" here in the US is at such a hamfisted and inept level, since this whole flap will just give Moore free publicity in the end.

Michael should hope for another 4 years of Bush, he'll continue to make a fortune.

Moore must be ballistic.

Actually Moore and Miramax are deliriously happy about this. It's an incredible amount of free publicity. No doubt many more people will see this film due to this controversy, especially world wide.

The censorship and Disney's inept handling of the numerous excuses are proving Moore's point for him.

"Bowling" has made 100 Million so far on a budget of 6 Million so Eisner is going to eat it with stockholders throwing away all that money.

It looks bad for Moore on the surface but actually they are overjoyed to have all this ABSOLUTELY FREE publicity. They would never have gotten this much publicity without the controversy. It's damn funny actually.
