Excuse me.......if there was anything worth fighting about, the Israelis would be all over it like bees on honey. Just three years ago they took the Swiss to court to get restitution for Jewish bank accounts that the Swiss confiscated during WW II. Your 'crocodile tears' for the Israelis are a bit much.

Equating anything that Israel has done to the Palestinians to the Holocaust is more than a "bit much".

That's not what I was saying. The Israelis expected the Swiss to be reasonable and pay restitution. And if they expect that of the Swiss, why do they not expect the same from themselves vis a vis the Palestinians?

At worst, the Israelis have engaged in a land grab over the course of the last fifty-odd years. That does not even begin to compare to genocide of six million people.

I agree........there is no comparison but do you see how quickly you jumped to that conclusion? Furthermore, it seems to me that there is a point where the holocaust can not excuse the Israelis for doing whatever they want to do.....fair or unfair. The losses of the Jews during the Holocaust can not be repaid because that loss was 6 million human lives but after 50 years, reasonable restitution has be made to the Jews in terms of Israel's statehood and finanical assistance.

In my mind, the slate is clean and the rest of us should not feel guilt anymore for the Holocaust.
