LB thinks going after Kerry's medals is bad news politically. I'm not so sure. Certainly not among the combat vet crowd.
One of my shooting buddies was a Marine in 1/9 and when he heard how Kerry got his Silver Star he just laughed and shook his head. He described how one night he let the clackers go on a set of claymores and took out most of a company of NVA sneaking up behind his engaged platoon at 3 am. He and the the other 3 men he was in charge of then engaged the survivors at 5 yards. He then commented that by Kerry's standard he and 3/4 of the grunts in VN deserved CMoH.
I expect alot of Memorial day picnics this year might consist of Vets saying "Hell, thats nothing, you shoulda been there when..."

choice of the alias unclewest came from. I guess that the
time spent in Ben Het must have had a lasting impact on
you.
