Past 10-15, life expectancy for some aged about 50 has expanded rapidly - about 10 years. Statin drugs, blood pressure control, angio plasty, vitamins, exercise, antibiotics, pacemakers, etc. If you are going to live longer,you will need more money. Also, working keeps you alive and sharp, especially knowledge work. Ask coal miners and you'll get different answers.
