Gold is a monetary metal held by CBs/MoPs and can be manipulated. Therefore some diversification is necessary, hence my interest in copper, silver and nickel. Just to bet solely on gold might be a mistake.

The play on the emerging gold producers was a little different however, and doesn't require higher POG. And judging from the KGC-CLG development there may be some raids on.

Do you think KGC and your boys at CLG are friendly? As I stated earlier I don't think CLG can go this alone now, they need the logistical support of a major. Is CLG management smart enough to know this? Maybe one more season of exploration there, up the ounces and the quality some, and unload this thing to KGC. I'd be very disappointed with CLG, if we are having this conversation next year.

The other stock that traded kind of funny last week was MFN. I kept waiting for it to break below six bucks so I could buy it, and it never did, started to strengthen, while the others were being smashed. Did a major do a munch there?
