Bush's 46% approval ratings and Iraq mess are what this is really all about. This should be Kerry's chance to surge ahead but the Bushies are waging the biggest slimefest ever in the history of politics. Trouble is, they have no ammo left. They cannot get anymore personal than attacking war hero Kerry's patriotism. In 2000, they did it to McCain right before the SC voting. Now they have 7 months to go and they've already spend 90 million on negative attack lies. Meanwhile the reality is that Bush's war is a total disaster.
