I once represented an Afghani man against the county on a zoning matter. It became apparent after a while that he was totally unreasonable, but he was motivated by desire for revenge, because the county inspectors walked in on his mother while her blouse was off and saw her in her brassiere, and honor required him to get revenge. They could have spared themselves a lot of trouble if they had been appropriately apologetic, but they were not. It's a different culture. Try this - you know that seeing a man's chest naked is different, in our culture, than seeing a woman's chest naked. OK, now to them, seeing a man naked is like seeing a woman naked in our culture, and seeing a woman naked is that much worse. If your wife or your mother or your daughter were stripped naked by prison guards and photographed naked, spread eagle, and the photos posted on the Internet, how would that make you feel?
