The right makes a large mistake making Vietnam service an issue. Why? Bush doesn't have any. It just reminds us all that we're in another pointless, loser, quagmire war that was personally launched under phony auspices by George W. Bush. A war that is seeming more like Vietnam every day. We've even got an "Iraqification" program now, reminding us all of "Vietnamization"! It's pointless to argue about the Vietnam war, it's OVER, we LOST and we never should have gone, just like this Iraq war.
