GW Bush, although wealthy, had the type of close-family upbringing more typical of Americans. Kerry's childhood followed the English aristocracy tradition of sending 10yr olds off to boarding school. Many negative emotional scars result from that cold & aloof environment during a person's most vulnerable yrs of development.

In fact, GW's mother Barbara has stated that her son George became even closer to his family after his sister's childhood death. Barbara said that young GW always tried to console her and showed maturity beyond his actual yrs as he strove to lighten the blow for everyone in the family. GW's parents provided a more nurturing and normal family atmosphere for their children than Kerry's aloof, wandering experience. In the end, American voters support the candidate who they can identify with....that's not Kerry.
