Because the Market has a negative view on the medium-long term prospects of the economy? Because Shrubbery is doing a miserable job of fixing the deficit in balance of payments and govt. spending? Because the current surge in the economy is only a blip?

interest stayed at its lowest level for way too long. Because of the solid recovery it is now expected with high degree of confidence that interest rates would be raised this year and then next year. Prior to the economic news the expectations were that there would be no rate hikes this year.

Your answer would probably be that Bush caused inflation, unemployment, deficit, more tax burden on poor, poor economy and market is scared by high possibility of reelection. Which would indicate that you're clueless
