It might surprise you to know that I agree with you. The Iraqis WILL end up deciding who they support and they'll end up enforcing THIER will.

"Peace with honor" will be attainable when we recognize that and stop trying to force our ideas of "democracy, civil rights, American military bases, peace with Israel, and oil friendly relations" down their throats.

Of course it's implicit that we may well HATE THE END RESULT. For example, it's been speculated that some of the "Iraqis" that are helping control Falluja are, in fact, the same "Iraqis" that are killing our soldiers there. In that sense the "enemy" may be the preferred choice of those in Iraq who have the balls to vote with their lives.

As I've said, the "moderates" power is way overrated since Iraq doesn't have the institutions with the power to enforce a "one man-one vote" system of government. Theirs is more of an AK-47 system. One of the tenets of democracy that we tend to forget is that it only works when people are willing to die fighting FOR it.
